The Scottish Open - Sidey Cup 2017


                               

Playing for the Sidey Cup, the 6th Scottish Pan-Disability Open Golf Championship is a European Disabled Golf ranking event.  The Open will run from Monday 21 through to Thursday 24 August inclusive.  Monday 21 is a practice round for all competitors and the competition will run from Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 August, played over 54-holes, 18-holes per day.  Golf will be played on two courses, the Torrance, will host golfers with handicaps of 18.4 and under, Stroke Play, while the Kittocks Golf Course, will host the 18.5 and above golfers Stableford.

 

Entry to the Open is available to both SDGP and EDGA members and the entry fee is only £30 (Sterling), which includes the EDGA members competition fee.  Golfers must pay the £30 fee to Scottish Disability Golf at the Fairmont, during registration, before play.

 

Entries are not confirmed until a booking is made at the Fairmont!

 

Some examples of booking packages are: for 4 rounds of golf, 3 nights bed and breakfast, with a daily post golf 2-course clubhouse meal and a shared golf cart, is £399 per person, based on two golfers sharing a two bedded room, or for non-residential, for 4 rounds of golf, with a daily post golf 2-course clubhouse meal and shared golf cart, is £237.50 per person.  Additional nights and bookings for coaches, friends and/or families, should be arranged directly with the hotel when entering and will be charged without golf rates as required.

 

All golfers wishing to participate in the Open, need to send a message through the Contact form below.  You will then receive an application form, the booking code and the contact numbers by auto-email return.

 

At the Open, Gents will play from the Yellow and Ladies from the Red markers on both the Torrance and the Kittocks courses for all four rounds.  In the event of tied scores after the 54-hole competition, on any course, there will be a card play off.  Monday 21 August is a Practice day, 1st T 13:00.  On Tuesday 22, Wednesday 23 & Thursday 24 August, the 1st T is at approximately 09:30, both courses.

Notes & other Open Information

 

The Fairmont St Andrews has a complimentary guest shuttle bus service, running from the hotel front entrance to St Andrews, every sixty minutes on the hour from 09:00 until 18:00.  The return journey to the Fairmont, runs from fifteen minutes after each hour from the British Golf Museum and twenty minutes after each hour from opposite the Byre Theatre, abbey Street, with the last pick up at 17:20.  Please note this complimentary service is provided on a first come, first served basis.  Seating is limited and there is no wheelchair access.

 

Scottish Disability Golf is providing a limited Edinburgh Airport pick up for non-UK players attending the Open.  The transport will run on Sunday 20 August, Monday 21 August (a.m. only) and Friday 25 August.  Full travel times must be forwarded to Scottish Disability Golf, at least two weeks before your travel day.  No other Airport transport arrangements will be made outside the three indicated dates/times

 

Golfers should note that the SDGP will not be accepting requests or arranging specialised tee times for any players during the Open. An open draw will be made each day and all golfers will be deliberately mixed with players from any country.  this includes the practice round on Monday 21 August.
