Scottish Disability Golf is please to announce that the Team Scotland Captain for 2017 has just been announced. James Thomson of Millport will lead the team in the Phoenix Cup event at Murrayshall in Perth this coming September.  The three day event, much like the Ryder Cup format, was generated by the SDGP and is played for the GolferMag trophy. The current holders are British Inclusive Golf, which will be led by Ian Halliwell.  The Team Scotland Captain will take the top eight players from the Scottish Order of Merit Championship Tables at a given date in August and then choose another four or five members of the SDGP, as ‘wildcard’ selections.

Free golf lessons – Scottish Disability Golf has introduced a new tuition programme for 2017 and moved away from organising large scale day-long clinics, where we involved as many as 120 people, and will now provide a grant programme for members, to access locally based lessons with PGA Teaching Professionals.  Our programme, which is part funded by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews and numerous UK based Trusts and Foundations, will provide a series of golf lessons for members, to a maximum of £75 per person.  We have already provided over 2900 free golf lessons and this year, funded members in the Fife, glasgow, Inverness & Nairn areas.  For more details on this programme, just fill in the brief form below.

Dates for our members attending the 2017 Euro Ranking Events are now listed on our Diary Page.  We have not listed the "specialised" or "other" events, which are invitational or for specific disabilities, as the SDGP will only promote golf competitions that are Open to golfers with all types of disability.
